Child Development Center (CDC). Programs are facility-based childcare services that support childcare needs for children ages 6 weeks through 12 years. Care options include full-day, part-day, and hourly care. Operating hours vary from installation to installation as determined by the needs of the base community and available resources. These programs, staffed by trained caregivers must meet the accreditation standards of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). All USMC CDCs comply with DoD standards for staff qualifications, program quality, safety, sanitation, and nutrition. CDCs receive regular comprehensive inspections.
