Benefits Officers - HIPAA

HIPAA stands for Health Insurance Portability Act and Accountability.

By law, anyone that has access to PeopleSoft, OPF's, payroll information, leave donations/FMLA, and workman's compensation records must be HIPAA certified because we have access to PHI (Personal Health Information).  Re-certification is required annually.

To receive your certification, please review the NAF HIPAA Training presentation, complete the HIPAA Certification Quiz, and return your copy to your local HR Training Office/HIPAA privacy official.  You will receive a certificate upon passing the quiz.  Your certification will also be recorded with Headquarters Benefits.

All supervisors, having access to employee's information, should familiarize themselves with the NAF Supervisor training on the intranet, but do not need to complete the quiz.
