Employee Benefits

The employee benefits package available to all regular full time and regular part time civilian Marine Corps nonappropriated fund (NAF) employees provides a full range of options, including health insurance, life insurance, a group retirement plan and a 401(k) savings plan.

Enrollment in the benefits package is available to all eligible regular employees. Some plans are only available during the 31 day eligibility period. Failure to enroll during that period may result in delay or loss of coverage opportunity. Consult your local personnel office for more details.

College is back in session and full time sent verification (from the registrar's office - not copies of schedules etc.) are required for all covered dependents over age 19.  Verification is to be sent to Aetna/HMO as well as your HR office.  This is a requirement until the age 26 provision for adult children starts on 1 Jan 2011.  Any bills incurred for students will be pended until verification is received.

**URGENT FOR AETNA MEMBERS (w/family coverage)**
The Dependent Audit is COMPLETE!
Thank you to all Aetna Family Participants that complied with the audit. Those that did not respond or submitted incomplete responses will have their dependent’s medical coverage cancelled effective 15 August 2010.

There will not be an opportunity to re-enroll until the open enrollment period, 1 – 30 November 2010.

(1 January 2011 effective date).

During Open Enrollment applicable documentation will be required before a dependent can be added.
  • ·         IRS 1040 for spouse and/or
  • ·         IRS 1040 & birth certificate for children or
  • ·         Official guardianship papers & proof of financial dependency for children other that natural born children or
  • ·         Qualified Medical Support Order (if applicable)

Employees should review their Beneficiary information annually to ensure their designation is up-to-date.  Please contact HR to update this information.
