Other Attractions: Iwakuni is a quiet town nestled in the southern portion
of Honshu. In the winter, there are local ski/snow boarding resorts and hot
springs. The rest of the year is perfect for hiking, beaches, boating and sightseeing
the beautiful mountainous country. The local area abounds with classic
Japanese temples and other cultural attractions. Many locals speak English.
Location: Approximately 35 miles southeast of Hiroshima – easy access to
public transportation.
