Lejeune Marine Wins Trip to Super Bowl in the MCCS Football Bash Promotion

MCB QUANTICO, VA  GySgt Derrick L. French from MCB Camp Lejeune, was the lucky winner of the 2006 Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) Football Bash Grand Prize   a five day/four night, all expense paid trip for two to Miami, FL to attend Super Bowl XLI, valued at over $7500.

This fall, MCCS clubs and restaurants across the Corps sponsored the MCCS Football Bash in an effort to get Marines into MCCS facilities for a little fun, camaraderie, and football.  In all, MCCS club and restaurant patrons submitted over 60,000 raffle entries.  Official event sponsors included AT&T, Coca-Cola North America, Coors Brewing Company, Tyson Foods, and Weber-Stephen Products Company.

As the winner of an installation Football Bash raffle, French was eligible for a 1 in 20 chance at the Grand Prize.  His name was drawn during a raffle on Dec. 15, 2006, at HQMC, Personnel and Family Readiness Division, aboard MCB Quantico, VA.  SgtMaj Bobby Flowers, Personal and Family Readiness Division, Sergeant Major drew the winning ticket.

The Grand Prize winner receives tickets for two to Super Bowl XLI, airfare, four nights ocean front lodging, and $500 spending money.  GySgt Anthony Hafer, MCRD/ERR Parris Island, won the Second Place Prize of $1,000, a stainless steel patio table and two chairs, a Coors Light patio umbrella, a Coors Light rolling cooler, and a Coca Cola fleece blanket.  LCpl. Noelan Dather, MCAS Beaufort, won the Third Place Prize of $500, a stainless steel patio table and two chairs, a Coors Light patio umbrella, a Coors Light rolling cooler, and a Coca Cola stadium seat.
