HQMC MR, QUANTICO, VIRGINIA In times of tight budgets, MCX customers can count on finding the goods they needs at the lowest prices. MCX customers save on average, 22 percent on a market basket comparison to prices at outside the gate retailers.  In addition to the market basket savings, MCX customers do not pay state or local sales taxes.

In October 2007, a Marine Corps Exchange Price Survey was completed to compare MCX prices with those of a variety of national retail stores (department, discount, big-box, and convenience stores) in Arlington, Virginia; San Diego, California; and Honolulu, Hawaii areas. A product list consisting of 339 line items representing 33 merchandise categories was used to accumulate pricing data. The survey found that in the aggregate, the MCX offers customers an average savings of 22 percent before tax. This was a savings increase of six percent compared to the results of the 2006 price survey.
