HQMC (MR), QUANTICO, VA – William C. Dillon has been appointed interim Director of the Morale, Welfare, Recreation and Business Operations Division. Dillon has served as the organization Chief Financial Officer since June 2004. The search for a new director is expected to take four to six months to complete.
In a message announcing the appointment, Lt Gen Robert Milstead, Deputy Commandant, Manpower and Reserve Affairs, said “We have much to do to accomplish our 35th Commandant's Planning Guidance during a challenging time in our Corps. I have great confidence in Bill's ability to lead our extremely-talented MR team as we set the conditions for success in this constrained resource environment. It is critical that we continue to focus on providing the best support to our commanders and their Marines and families.”
Dillon has more than 20 years of experience in senior financial management positions with both regional and national retail chains including a time as the Senior VP, CFO, for import operations with Target Corporation. He also served as a Marine Corps artillery officer from 1969 to 1972.
Dillon will be responsible for programs such as the Marine Corps Exchange, Food and Hospitality Operations, Semper Fit and Recreation, and common MCCS support functions such as nonappropriated fund contracting, finance, human resources, information technology and procurement.
