The Dependency Determination Section reviews and adjudicates claims for Basic Allowances for Housing (BAH); determination of eligibility for other related privileges and benefits for select categories of family members; and investigates complaints of nonsupport.
Submit complete Dependency Application packages to include copies of court orders, birth certificates, social security cards, etc. as required. Please ensure application is completed in its entirety. Applications containing missing information are one of the primary reasons for an unfavorable determination.
Submit dependent request packages through your Command Admin. It will then be forwarded via your command to Military Personnel Services Branch, Headquarters, United States Marine Corps.
When a dependency application package has been disapproved (for incomplete, outdated, or omission of required information), and the service member desires to resubmit, he/she must submit a new, complete BAH package, to include a current Dependency Application (NAVMC Form 10922)(DOC 30 KB).
Children born out of wedlock may be approved at command level with supporting documentation. Once approved, these claims along with the supporting documents must be forwarded to Military Personnel Services Branch, Headquarters, United States Marine Corps for review.
