All Marine Sports - Rugby

The All-Marine Rugby Trial Camp, originally scheduled to take place at MCB Camp Lejeune, will be moved to MCLB Albany, GA 30 October to 8 November 2009.  The Armed Forces Championship is scheduled 9-15 November at Fort Benning, GA.  Due to the location of the Armed Forces Championship, the move will ease financial and logistical operations for the All-Marine Team.  For further questions, please contact the Marine Corps Sports Office at 703-784-9542 or steven.dinote@usmc.mil

The rugby team from the U.S. Air Force defeated the Navy team 37-8 Thursday afternoon to win the 2008 Armed Forces Rugby Championship at Fort Benning's Stewart-Watson Field.

The Air Force team finished the tournament with a perfect 5-0 record.

In the consolation match, the Army defeated the Marine Corps 44-24.

Competition began Monday and concluded today and featured teams representing the Army, Air Force Marines, navy and Coast Guard.
