Viewers are presented with a situation in which warning signs were there but no one acted on them. This video prompts discussion by asking viewers to describe what happened (recognizing warning signs) and how they would have handled similar concerns (getting help, taking action). Making the Critical Decision addresses the need to intervene early in order to save a life. When risk factors and warning signs are noticed the critical decision should be made to get help for that individual. By understanding how key risk factors relate to suicidal thinking you can help to reduce the risk factors and increase protective factors, which can save lives.
