FEATURED TRANSITION PROGRAMS

TurboTAP

TurboTAP is an automated Transition Assistance system for delivering valuable information to Servicemembers and their families as they separate from the military. It is first and foremost designed to address Guard and Reserve transition assistance shortfalls during and after demobilization. TurboTAP supplements existing transition programs originally designed for the active components. TurboTAP can be accessed at http://www.TurboTAP.org.

Wounded Veteran Internship Program

The Virginia Department of Transportation's (VDOT) is offering a two year Wounded Veteran Internship Program.   The primary focus is on (but will not be limited to) veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan.  The program is designed for veterans who find they are not suited physically or emotionally to their former job, or because the job is no longer available.  The program is the first of its kind and is expected to serve as a model for other states.

Veterans in the program can compete for full-time VDOT jobs, or they can be introduced to jobs in the private sector or another government agency.
