Iwakuni Marine Wins Trip to Super Bowl in the MCCS Football Bash Promotion

MCB QUANTICO, VA -- 1st Lt. Aaron Schnetzler from MCAS Iwakuni, was the lucky winner of the 2005 Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) Football Bash Grand Prize   a five day/four night, all expense paid trip for two to Detroit, MI, to attend Super Bowl XL, valued at over $7500.

This fall, MCCS clubs and restaurants across the Corps sponsored the MCCS Football Bash in an effort to get Marines into MCCS facilities for a little fun, camaraderie, and football.  In all, MCCS club and restaurant patrons submitted over 60,000 raffle entries.  Official event sponsors included Coca-Cola North America, Coors Brewing Company, Tyson Foods, Weber-Stephen Products Company, and EA Sports.

As the winner of an installation Football Bash raffle, Schnetzler was eligible for a 1 in 18 chance at the Grand Prize.  His name was drawn during a raffle on Dec. 16, 2005, at HQMC, Personnel and Family Readiness Division, aboard MCB Quantico, VA.  SgtMaj Ronnie Edwards, Personal and Family Readiness Division, Sergeant Major drew the winning ticket.

The Grand Prize winner receives tickets for two to Super Bowl XL, airfare, four nights lodging, ground transportation, and $500 spending money.  Cpl. Sam Osterholt, MCAS Beaufort, won the Second Place Prize of $1,000, a Play Station Personal (PSP) with an assortment of games and movies, and a leather duffle bag donated by the sponsors.  Cpl. Joe DeMarinis, MCAGCC Twentynine Palms, won the Third Place Prize of $500, a PSP with games, and a stadium blanket donated by the sponsors.
