Semper Fit Seeks Resumes for All-Marine Chess Team

MCB QUANTICO, VA - Do you have what it takes to go head-to-head with the best minds in America's armed forces?  Semper Fit is seeking resumes for the All-Marine Chess Team to represent the Corps at the Inter-Service Chess Championship June 11-17 at NAS Jacksonville, FL and at the NATO Chess Championship August 19-26 at Wellington College, England.

Marines interested in being considered for selection to the All-Marine team must submit their resumes no later than April 21, 2006.  Resumes must include the player"s United States Chess Federation (USCF) membership card identification number, state of registration, USCF rating, date of rating, and record of significant chess activity during the past two years (provide date, place, event and standing).  All resume packages must contain command endorsement stating that the Marine will be made available to attend all events if selected, and resume should be sent through the local Marine Corps Community (MCCS) Semper Fit Athletic Director for coordination. Marines stationed at locations without a local MCCS may submit their resumes directly to the Commandant of the Marine Corps (MRS) along with their command endorsement. The All Marine Team will consist of six players selected from submitted resumes. The U.S. National Team will consist of six players and a team captain formed from the top finishers from each service and the top remaining finishers overall.

Resume forms are available on the MCCS website at www.usmc-mccs.org/chess, or forms can be picked up from your local MCCS Semper Fit Athletic Director.
