HQMC (MR), QUANTICO, VA – Cpl Ricky Russell was the lucky winner of the 2010 Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) Football Bash Grand Prize – a five day/four night, all expense paid trip for two to Arlington, TX to attend Super Bowl XLV, valued at over $7,500.
This fall, MCCS clubs and restaurants across the Corps sponsored the MCCS Football Bash in an effort to get Marines into MCCS facilities for a little fun, camaraderie, and football. In all, MCCS club and restaurant patrons submitted over 60,000 raffle entries. Official event sponsors included Anheuser-Busch, AT&T, EA Sports, Mrs. T’s, PepsiCo, Outback Restaurant, and T-Mobile.
Cpl Russell, with VMFA (AW) 224, was UDP to MCAS Iwakuni when he entered the Football Bash. As the winner of the MCAS Iwakuni drawing he was eligible for a 1 in 20 chance at the Grand Prize. His name was drawn during a raffle on Dec. 10, 2010, at HQMC, Personal and Family Readiness Division, aboard MCB Quantico, VA. SgtMaj Michael S. Timmerman, Personal & Family Readiness Division Sergeant Major, drew the winning ticket.
The Grand Prize winner receives tickets for two to Super Bowl XLV, airfare, four nights lodging, a Sony waterproof digital camera, and $500 spending money. GySgt Bridget Clark, MCAS Miramar, won the Second Place Prize of $1,000, an Outback Steakhouse Gift Basket, and a Toshiba Netbook. SSgt Antonio Garansuay, MCLB Albany, won the Third Place Prize of $500, a Sony Desktop Stereo, and golf bag.
