Release Date: 2/27/2012

Webbook unpackedHQMC (MR) QUANTICO, VA – Ten pallets of litl LLC Webbooks have been delivered to Marine Forces Reserve headquarters to be distributed to the families of 950 Marine Privates to Sergeants. These Webbooks were provided through a corporate sponsorship between Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) and Operation Homelink.

In total, 3,000 Webbooks were donated by litl LLC to Operation Homelink, so that junior Service members could stay in touch while deployed. MCCS was the largest recipient of Webbooks. The National Guard, Army, Fisher Houses, and Student Veterans of America also received Webbooks.

According to Nancy Pasternack, MCCS Corporate Sponsorship Program manager, “The Webbooks will be distributed at pre-deployment Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program events in 2012 and will be given to the family members of the deploying Marines. These Webbooks, will give the families the ability to stay in touch with their Marines via email, Skype, and social media, and also allow them to communicate with their Family Readiness Team and take advantage of a variety of web based programs from MCCS and the Department of Defense such as Tudor.com and Military One Source.”

MCCS exists to support and enhance the morale and recreation of not only our Nation's most elite fighting force, the Marines, but also their families, retired military personnel, and other authorized patrons. This Marine Corps family relies upon MCCS and Family Readiness programs for leisure-time activities, ranging from athletic events to youth activities and childcare to festivals.

“Corporate support enhances these events and directly contributes to this select group's quality of life,” Pasternack said. “We invite Corporate America to be partners with MCCS through the Commercial Sponsorship Program. This program enables companies to reach the military market, while helping MCCS enhance quality of life and leisure-time activities for our Marines, Sailors, and their families.”
