Rooted in Service, Ready for Business

Rooted in Service, Ready for Business

National Veterans Small Business Week | November 9-13, 2026
For Marines transitioning to civilian life, entrepreneurship offers a pathway to turn military experience, leadership skills, and ideas into a new career.

Not sure where to start?
The Marine Corps Transition Readiness Program (TRP) connects Marines with transition activities, resources, and services that support individual transition goals.

Marines interested in entrepreneurship can participate in the Small Business Administration (SBA) Entrepreneurship Track, Boots to Business, as part of the transition process. The program introduces service members to the fundamentals of business ownership and resources available to help turn an idea into a business opportunity.

These courses can help participants:

  • Explore potential business opportunities.
  • Develop a business plan.
  • Identify technical assistance and other business resources.
  • Evaluate potential markets and business opportunities.

The support doesn’t end when the course is over. Installation TRP personnel can connect Marines and eligible family members with local resources to support their transition and next steps.

Take the First Step
During National Veterans Small Business Week, Nov. 9–13, 2026, explore what business ownership could look like after the Marine Corps. Connect with a local Transition Readiness office to learn more about the Entrepreneurship Track and start turning your next mission into a concrete plan.
