DoD SECO Program Virtual Symposium

If you are a spouse looking for career and education guidance, the Department of Defense’s (DoD) Military Spouse Education and Careers Opportunities (SECO) program is a great place to get started.

The MySECO program provides career guidance and coaching, tailored to the individual spouse’s needs. Not only do they provide one-on-one support, but they also host an array of virtual events that equip spouses with knowledge and resources to reach their career goals.

This past January, MySECO’s Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP) hosted a virtual hiring fair for the many spouses interested in pursuing remote opportunities, with over 1,000 spouses in attendance.

The DoD’s MySECO program also offers a suite of programs and resources to support spouses wherever they are in their career journey.

  • The MSEP program supports military spouses in finding and maintaining employment by collaborating with a network of employers dedicated to hiring and supporting military families.
  • My Career Advancement Account offers spouses up to $4,000 in financial assistance to pursue education and training, helping them gain portable, fulfilling careers and enhance employability despite the challenges that military life brings.
  • Udemy makes it easier for spouses to reach their career goals by providing access to flexible educational courses and pathways to certification all through their easy to access online platform.
  • The Military Spouse Career Accelerator Pilot (MSCAP) boosts career opportunities for military spouses through paid fellowships, targeted training, career coaching, and potential job placement, addressing the unique challenges of military life.
