Prep for PCS by Attending L.I.N.K.S.

Are you preparing for a permanent change of station (PCS) move? Your local Information, Referral, and Relocation (IR&R) office is your go-to resource for moving support—but did you know your local Lifestyle Insights, Networking, Knowledge, and Skills (L.I.N.K.S.) team offers tried-and-true PCS tips that make moving a little less stressful for families?

While L.I.N.K.S. supports spouses and families navigating a move, it also serves parents and other loved ones who want to better understand Marine life.

Parents or loved ones of a Marine may have questions about how to best support their Marine. The LINKS Program provides an orientation to the Marine Corps lifestyle and helps family members better understand the unique challenges and opportunities of military life.

In the Places You’ll Go section of L.I.N.K.S., you’ll learn how to:

  • Connect with helpful organizations that support military moves
  • Understand the benefits of relocating
  • Develop flexibility skills before, during, and after your move

Other L.I.N.K.S. modules, like “Investing in Your Community” and “Building Your Network,” focus on building connections through volunteering, overcoming barriers to engagement, and developing strong communication skills.

Moving is about more than logistics—community connection matters, too. When you arrive at your new duty station, L.I.N.K.S. can help you start your volunteer journey and meet new people.

Contact your local Marine Corps Family Team Building office to sign up today.
