USMC Child & Youth Program Career Mapping

The Marine Corps has released the Child and Youth Programs (CYP) Career Roadmap, a structured framework designed to support professional growth, workforce development, and long-term career progression across Marine Corps installations.

The CYP Career Roadmap outlines a clear pathway for professionals in the field, showing how foundational training, entry-level experience, and hands-on learning contribute to long-term career success.

The roadmap helps employees see how their current roles build the skills needed for future leadership and specialized positions.

It highlights key milestones, required qualifications, and ongoing professional development opportunities, helping employees understand and navigate their career potential within CYP.

This initiative reinforces the Marine Corps’ commitment to strengthening the workforce by improving retention, supporting employee development, and positioning CYP as a viable and rewarding career field.

“The CYP Career Roadmap provides our workforce with a clear understanding of how they can grow and advance within our programs,” said Kari Ratcliffe, program manager, Child and Youth Programs at Headquarters Marine Corps. “By outlining defined progression pathways, we are investing in our people and enhancing our ability to deliver high-quality programs that support military children and families.”
